About Stilz Fotografika

Stilz Fotografika is an extension from a photography studio established in southern Italy in 1993 by photographer Francesca Surace. On her return to Sydney in 2000, Francesca collaborated with other photographers for four years and then established Stilz Fotografika in March, 2004.

From her experience of photography from opposite ends of the globe, Francesca brings her romantic European style and combines it with the contemporary candid approach so familiar to Australian wedding and portrait photography.

Francesca loves photographing people, especially when they are having a memorable and fun time. Any occasion, from the birth of a new family member to a daughter or son’s wedding to just a Sunday afternoon stroll in the park deserves to be captured and admired for years to come, recreating that same emotion from the original day. Francesca knows this because she has put herself into the client’s shoes and asked herself, “What would I want from my portrait/wedding photos?”

Stilz Fotografika specialises in recreating those moments with expertise and time and presenting them in materials that enhance, not shadow the subject. Be it family portraits together with the pets, a wedding however big or small, even corporate photography from product shoots to fashion shoots, let Stilz Fotografika be there to record your life!


Francesca Surace

Francesca began to develop her skills in photography during her art classes in high school. As an avid snapper from a young age at any occasion, she changed her path from painting to photography during her senior high school years after realising the creative and incredible lighting challenges and prospects that photography provided and majored in photography for Art. She trained and continued to develop her skills in Italy, where she had moved to live with her family. There she was guided and mentored by Master Italian photographers and mastered studio and natural lighting techniques. She developed a romantic style to her photography which she applied to the many weddings she photographed there. She also loved shooting the many social events that occurred in her small town, religious events, birthdays, portraits and also product shoots for many small businesses in the area. Since moving back to Sydney, Francesca’s focus has been on weddings. “I love and am honoured to be a part of people’s special day. I always have fun, as do my clients and I get to go to parties every weekend!”
